RIP Patrick McGoohan

Patrick McGoohan in THE PRISONERPatrick McGoohan dead at 80

“The Prisoner” was my favorite television series of all time and played an important role in my childhood. I was glued to the TV each time a new episode premiered in the USA back on WNET-NY. People who were not around when the show was new may not understand this, but the show and the character of #6 strongly contributed to who I am today. I was the original author of the first Internet FAQ for the show, going all the way back to Usenet. I was the only American at a convention held at “The Village” (Portmerion, Wales) in the early 80s, and I was inspired enough to own two Caterham Lotus 7 automobiles in my lifetime. While I never met him personally, McGoohan is well know for having concerns over the loss of liberty and privacy to meet the desire of society and government – something more important today than ever.
